Historic First: Pakistani Film Moklani Wins at Jackson Wild Media Awards

A proud moment for Pakistan and Jawad Sharif Films!

Moklani – The Last Mohanas has made history as the first-ever Pakistani film to win an award at the Jackson Wild Media Awards, which are often called the Oscars of nature films.

Chosen from a record-breaking 500 entries, with over 200 international judges screening more than 1,000 hours of media, Moklani was honored as Winner in the Global Voices Category.

The film tells the story of the Mohanas of Manchar Lake, an indigenous fisherfolk community whose centuries-old way of life is vanishing. To see their story recognized on such a global stage is deeply humbling.
This recognition, above all, belongs to the Mohana community.
