FAO Transforming Farmer Field School Approach Through JAM's 4-Colors and e-FFS

In 1989, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations developed the farmer field school approach to promote ecosystem literacy among farmers. The approach is based on the agro-ecosystem analysis methodology that aims to guide farmers to make better decisions. As an analytical tool, the agro-ecosystem analysis educates farmers on data collection, analysis and also helps farmers make informed decisions about crops and commodities.  For uneducated and/or less educated farmers FAO Pakistan introduced the Jam’s 4 Colors Approach a unique colors language universal to all people, whether uneducated or educated.
